Lakewood Ranch Realty Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Schroeder-Manatee Ranch, Inc. (SMR), the developers of Lakewood Ranch. Originally incorporated in 1996, Lakewood Ranch Realty Company started with its commercial division in development of the Lakewood Ranch master plan. Headed by Lakewood Ranch Realty President, John Swart, the highly successful operation helped make Lakewood Ranch one of the most successful places for businesses to grow. In turn, this success fueled the strong demand for housing in the Lakewood Ranch community.

Responding to the large number of residential inquiries, Lakewood Ranch Realty opened the Residential Division in January, 2000. The company started with only a handful of professional agents and specialized in home resales and rentals in Lakewood Ranch and the surrounding area. From day one, traffic to the office was brisk and the residential division became a huge success. As the market expanded and the company grew stronger, the need for two independent companies arose.

By mid 2004, Lakewood Ranch Realty's success had caught the attention of Schroeder-Manatee Ranch's management team and they divided the company into two independent entities. Milton Flinn was named President of Lakewood Ranch Realty and grew the company from a team of 15 agents to over 80 seasoned agents as of January 2007. Today, Lakewood Ranch Realty is a full-service real estate organization that specializes in the award-winning community of Lakewood Ranch and the surrounding communities. Lakewood Ranch Realty currently has three offices. The long-term plan calls for the operation to grow to six offices and over 100 agents in the next several years.

Lakewood Ranch Realty Company is a member of the Sarasota Association of REALTORS, the Manatee Association of REALTORS, and the Greater Tampa Association of REALTORS.
